2022

Key Themes in 2022

In 2022, Hon. E.P. Chet Greene’s work centered on assuming and exercising strong regional leadership as Chair of the CARICOM Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) and CARIFORUM. He prioritized coordinated Caribbean responses to the Russia-Ukraine conflict’s effects on food security, energy prices, and economic stability, while advancing multilateral partnerships through engagements with the United Nations, FAO, the China-Caribbean Forum, and the EU-Caribbean Partnerships. Bilateral diplomacy, including meetings with Japan, supported post-COVID recovery efforts focused on trade, investment, and resilience for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Throughout the year, he balanced these international responsibilities with his ongoing domestic roles as MP for St. Paul and ABLP Chairman.
