Key Themes in 2024

Hon. E.P. Chet Greene played a central role in one of Antigua and Barbuda’s major diplomatic achievements by helping host the successful 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) in May, where he championed the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS) and advocated for greater global support for island nations’ resilience and development needs. He joined the Coalition of Trade Ministers on Climate and integrated climate action with trade policy. Early preparations intensified for the country’s hosting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2026, complemented by active participation in the UN General Assembly to secure new opportunities for social and economic development. His efforts maintained a strong focus on CARICOM, OAS, and Commonwealth forums while continuing domestic responsibilities as MP for St. Paul and ABLP Chairman, ensuring foreign policy delivered tangible national benefits.
